We have zero tolerance for illegal/violent/aggressive behaviour.

Illegal activities are prohibited.
Violence, threats, harassment or abusive behaviour toward staff, owners, neighbours or other guests is prohibited.
Weapons or dangerous activities that create a safety risk are prohibited.

Management may require guests to leave for serious violations, subject to applicable law and the terms of the rental agreement. If this is required, you will not receive any reimbursement.

Sand Lake Shores is a family-friendly property; however, children must be supervised by their parent/guardian at all times, particularly around the waterfront, fire pits, docks, roads and recreational equipment.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife. With that, we ask for guests to exercise caution and respect.

Do not feed wildlife.
Keep food/garbage secured.
Don't leave food outside overnight.
Don't approach wildlife.
Guests should report concerning wildlife activity to management.

FIRE BOWLS

Every unit has a fire bowl located near your accommodations.

We provide an initial complimentary bag of firewood. Additional wood is available on-site for $15.00 / bag.
Guests are not permitted to bring firewood from outside sources.
The fire bowl can only be used between 7 pm - 11 pm in the designated location, except during a government/municipal mandated “Fire Ban”. During a fire ban if you are caught having a fire you will forfeit your payment and be asked to leave - we take this extremely seriously.
The wood stored inside the Cabin or Lodge is only for use in the wood stove or fireplace and not in the fire bowl.
Please do not break branches off of our trees.
Fires only in designated fire bowls.
Fires must never be left unattended.
Completely extinguish fires before leaving them.
No moving fire pits.
No burning garbage.
Follow local fire restrictions/bans.
Guests must use reasonable caution around children

Unit Policies:

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM

During quiet hours:

No loud music.
No shouting/yelling.
No disruptive outdoor activity.
Respect neighbouring guests and nearby residents.

Damages: We expect guests to take great care of our units and all provided materials/equipment.

Guests are responsible for:

Damage to the unit.
Damage to furniture/equipment.
Broken or missing items.
Excessive cleaning caused by misuse.
Damage caused by their guests or pets.
Lost keys/access devices.
Damage to boats/waterfront equipment caused by negligence or misuse.

If damage occurs, we expect it to be reported to staff immediately. Guests will be responsible for any damage-related costs.

Guest Policy: If you decide to have guests or visitors, additional fees may apply and prior approval is required.

We restrict the number of guests and dogs allowed in a Cottage or Chalet and on our property.
Depending on the original booking arrangements, an additional fee of $20/guest/day and $15/dog/day will apply.
Guests are responsible for the behaviour of everyone in their party.
No parties, weddings, large gatherings or events unless specifically approved in writing prior..

Smoking/Vaping: Smoking and vaping of tobacco, cannabis, or nay cannabis products are strictly prohibited inside all cabins and the lodge building at Sand Lake Shores. Guests who wish to smoke or vape must do so outdoors and dispose of all cigarette butts and cannabis waste properly. This is a shared property amongst cabin renters, so please be respectable and keep appropriate distances from others when smoking/vaping. Smoking materials cannot be left near buildings, decks, boats, grass or firewood.

Fireworks: Fireworks are not permitted on the property.

Parking: We have limited parking directly onsite by the cabins, therefore we must limit renters to one vehicle per unit rental (unless otherwise arranged). Parking for each unit will be outlined on our site map, which is located on our website.

Please note we are actively working on an expanded parking area on our property across the road which will provide safer and more spacious parking for units. It will specifically accommodate ATV and snowmobilers with large trailers.

Waterfront:

As a waterfront property with beach access, we require guests to follow water safety policies to ensure utmost safety:

Swimming and waterfront activities are at the guest's own risk.
Children must be supervised by an adult.
No diving unless specifically designated as safe.
No glass containers near the beach/water.
Life jackets/PFDs should be used for applicable boating activities.
Guests must return waterfront equipment after use in the same condition.
No swimming after consuming alcohol if impaired.
Waterfront areas may be closed when conditions are unsafe.

Sand Lake Shores does have kayaks and paddle boards for guests to enjoy. However, the following rules must be abided by:

Equipment is for registered guests only.
Guests must follow posted safety instructions.
Children must be supervised.
PFDs must be worn where required/recommended.
Equipment must be returned in good condition.
Damage caused by misuse may be charged to the guest.
Equipment cannot be taken off the property without permission.

PET POLICY

The only pets we allow are dogs. We require a $50 additional fee per booking.

Dogs are permitted in cabins 1, 2 and 3, and the loft. No dogs are permitted in the lodge.
If you would like to bring your dogs, prior approval is required.
Dogs must be house trained.
You must clean up after your dogs, inside and outside.
Dogs are not allowed on furniture/beds.
We only allow a maximum of two dogs per cabin.
Dogs must be on a leash or tied up at all times while on our property.
Dogs are not allowed to bark excessively so that they annoy other guests and are not allowed to be left unattended.

Should your dogs cause any damage on the property, we reserve the right to take the price of repair off of your security deposit - if the price of repair exceeds the security deposit, the credit card on file will be charged.

STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY:

You have 7 days prior to your arrival to cancel your reservation to receive a refund of your deposit, less a $25 administration fee. Reservations cancelled inside of 7 days are subject to a one night plus tax penalty. Cancellations, modifications, or reduction of nights made within less than 7 days of arrival will be charged a penalty equal to 100% of the first night’s stay plus tax. Cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in, as well as no-shows or early departures, are completely non-refundable and will be charged for the full duration of the booked stay.

GROUP CANCELLATION POLICY:

This applies to groups booking 3+ units. Cancellations made within 4 days of arrival, as well as no-shows or early departures, are completely non-refundable and will be charged for the full duration of the booked stay.
