Winter Fun
There is a variety of ways that you can enjoy the snow at Sand Lake Shores and around the Kearney area.
We have snowshoes available for rent at Sand Lake Shores.
XC Skiing and Trails
The area around Kearney features many trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Algonquin Park is close to Sand Lake Shores - with a large amount of courses to enjoy, you'll have access to the dreamy winter scenery. Arrowhead Park is also another great option as they offer a large skating trail.
Ice Fishing
Sand Lake is a perfect lake for ice fishing Lake Trout is the dominant species in Sand Lake. Guests are welcome to walk out onto the ice, about 100 yards, and try their luck.We do not provide ice fishing equipment/huts, but guests are welcome to bring their equipment/huts!
